JFP Technical Services was founded by
James Farroni, providing over 30 years experience in materials testing
and failure analysis requiring meticulous documentation in such
industries as medical products and electronic components. To this
is added a great facility for fixturing, thus replicating industrial
processes in the lab for precise measurement and characterization.
John Paciorek became a partner in the company,
bringing his extensive background in steel operations - from billet
casting to hot rolling to tube, pipe and roll forming. Together
they have served companies base in Ohio and though out the United
States. John Paciorek is now semi-retired, working on selected projects,
including design and specification reviews for blueprint requirements
in conformity with the standards for our Professional Engineer review
and seal.
The core business of JFP Technical Services has
been in failure analysis - providing consulting and testing for
process and product development, and expert forensic testimony for
arbitration, litigation and negotiated settlements. Their testing
and reports can help prevent future process breakdowns and product
recalls, preserving their client's reputation and saving them money.
It's position as a third party laboratory dedicated to scientifically
repeatable results and withstanding cross examination from informed
legal counsel helps ensure fair rulings and judgments.
While significantly focused on failure analysis,
JFP Technical Services engages in the full gamut of laboratory base
services. They perform standard destructive mechanical testing;
like hardness, microhardness, tensile, compression and ductility
testing. Using photomicroscopy, they provide microstructure analysis
of both homogeneous materials and for heterogeneous applications
like plating and coating cross-section. There have been advances
on several fronts in instrumentation, including SEM (Scanning Electron
Microscopy) for imaging and EDX (Energy Dispersive X-Ray) elemental
analysis.
Recently, they have added portable X-Ray Fluorescence
(XRF) for RoHS testing RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
compliance screening tests, primarily to determine the presence
of heavy metals and halogens and provide an excellent characterization
of alloys and selected polymers.
